FAQ's

Is a cheaper roll really the best roll for me and my business?

Cheaper rolls are generally made from low quality, heavy stock paper, with dust particals that can clog your machine causing paper jams and poor print quality. They are generally imported after being manufactured off shore. Most are also made on nasty, non recyclable cardboard cores containing toxic glues, which are not at all good for the environment.

Fast Rolls thermal rolls are manufactured in Australia using only the highest grade papers and recycled cores and are backed by our ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Systems.

Choosing a Fast Rolls roll is the right choice for your business and the environment.

Isn't heavy stock paper better quality paper?

Generally not. Many imported rolls are made on heavy stock paper that has an uneven paper surface, producing an uneven print finish. Heavier stock also means a shorter length of roll, some 80mm x 80mm rolls can be less than 50 meters in length!!

Not all rolls are even!!

How do I measure a roll?

Its very simple- Head on over to our How to Measure Your Roll page for easy instrustions on how to get the right roll for your machine. If you're still not sure, give us a call, we're happy to help.

How long will the image last on a Fast Rolls roll?

The Fast Rolls thermal rolls have a minimum 7 year image life. Not too shabby!! Just make sure you store them correctly.

Is the left over core recyclable?

It certainly is!! But not only is it recyclable, its recycled, from old automotive and electrical componants.

Recycling the cores is easy, just drop them in your houshold recycling bins to keep them out of landfill.

What is the best way to store my rolls?

Avoid hot and humid environments- for long term storage, thermal paper should be stored in the dark at an ambient temperature of less than 25 degrees C and a relative humidity of less than 65%.

Avoid exposure to direct sunlight- The paper will yellow if exposed to direct sunlight for prolinged periods. The printed image also tends to fade in direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to conventional fluroescent lights can also fade images, so it is important that printed paper be filed soon after printing.
